In this application, it's sandwiched between the sleeve and the jacket of the tube, at a specified position on both ends of the tube. The hole in this plug allows air or water from outside to pass through it and out of it at high pressure.

Tappered Tube Pneumatic and Latch: This is a plug that's used in a pressurized air boiler. In this application, it's sandwiched between the sleeve and the jacket of the tube, at a specified position on both ends of the tube.
